‘Our Maps, Our Say’ Rallies this Thursday, June 4

In February 2024, our community celebrated a massive victory when Governor Evers signed fairer legislative maps into law. For the first time in over a decade, Wisconsin Democrats have a fighting chance to compete on a more (though not completely) level playing field this November.

But our work isn't finished. Without a permanent fix partisan politicians could easily drag us right back into a more deeply gerrymandered reality the next time lines are drawn.

That is why the Wisconsin Fair Maps Coalition, alongside advocacy partners like the Wisconsin Democracy Campaign, and the League of Women Voters of Wisconsin is launching a coordinated statewide day of action on Thursday, June 4, 2026. The "Our Maps, Our Say" rallies will bring the public's demands straight to the Legislature's doorstep.

Why We Are Rallying

Recent federal court decisions (like the Callais ruling) have made it clear that we cannot rely solely on federal safeguards to protect our vote. We need state-level permanence. Activists across Wisconsin are demanding:

  • A Permanent Independent Redistricting Commission (IRC): Taking the power to draw lines away from self-serving politicians and giving it to an independent body.

  • Protection for Our Multi-Racial Democracy: Ensuring every single Wisconsinite has equal representation for generations to come.
