Hi Everyone,
For those of you I haven’t met yet, I’m Nick. I work with WisDems here in Wisconsin’s 6th Congressional District, partnering with our county parties and local volunteers to build the strongest grassroots field program we can. I don’t just believe in democracy—I believe in us, and in the power of regular people to do extraordinary things when we step up together.
We’re heading into the home stretch of an election year that’s going to shape our future. This spring, Chris Taylor inspired an incredible wave of Democratic turnout in the 6th District’s primary—a real sign of what’s possible when we organize and believe in each other. That momentum is proof: when we put in the work, we can surprise everyone—including ourselves.
I got my master’s in political science, focused specifically on democratic erosion (and restoration). I can promise you: there are folks out there who want to take your democracy away from you. The worst part? They think no one will stop them—they think they have a mandate to do whatever they want. It’s on us to prove them wrong, and to show that power still belongs to the people. I can promise you that there is no better way to prove them wrong than to get rid of Trump's lapdog Glenn Grothman by electing Brad Smith.
I can promise you: there are folks out there who want to take your democracy away from you.
Across Wisconsin, our field program depends on something simple: people talking to people. Volunteers knocking doors, having conversations with their neighbors, collecting information, helping voters understand when and how to vote, and making sure people do not fall through the cracks. We have seen the far right repeatedly pour money into the elections in Wisconsin to try to buy it. They outspend us many times over, yet we have never been closer to electing a democratic trifecta in this state, and that is because of our ground game.
Let’s take the energy and momentum from the spring and turn it into the greatest, most determined grassroots effort the 6th District has ever seen. These final weeks are our chance to make history.

Our goal is to reach every door in our universe that we reasonably can. That means expanding beyond the people we already know, reaching voters who may not hear from campaigns very often, and making the most of every packet and every volunteer shift we have available.

Share it with your county party members and neighborhood teams. Send it to the person who has been saying for months that they want to get involved but hasn’t taken that first step yet, and ask them to commit to a specific time to take action with you.
