Summer Canvassing Kickoff

Summer canvassing season is here. The Democratic Party of Columbia County (CoCo Dems) is hitting the ground running.
On Saturday, May 23 we’re calling on members, volunteers, and supporters to join us as we head into Columbia County communities to help Democratic candidates collect the nomination signatures they need to get on the ballot. This is where campaign season truly begins: With conversations at the door, energy in our neighborhoods, and people coming together to build something bigger than themselves.
There are two locations for canvassing in Columbia County: The CoCo Dems headquarters, 315 DeWitt St., in Portage; and The Columbus Progressives, 628 W Prairie St., Columbus, WI
Canvassing is about more than gathering signatures, though that work is essential. It’s also our chance to get out into the community, listen to our neighbors, hear what issues matter most, and show that Democrats are present, engaged, and ready to take back leadership. Every doorstep conversation helps us strengthen relationships, spark enthusiasm, and build the momentum we’ll need in the months ahead. The sooner we start, the stronger we’ll be.
Whether you’ve canvassed for years or you’re thinking about trying it for the very first time, we hope you’ll be part of this exciting start to the summer season. By joining us on May 23, you’ll help our candidates take an important step toward the ballot while also helping our party connect early and often with voters throughout Columbia County. Let’s launch this season with purpose, optimism, and action—one signature, one conversation, and one neighborhood at a time.
