Join a Neighborhood Action Team

Neighborhood Action Teams (NATs) are the Democratic Party of Columbia County’s neighborhood-level organizing structure. They are designed to foster ongoing grassroots engagement, encourage leadership development, and support voter contact and mobilization throughout the county. Through canvassing, phone banking, relational organizing, and community outreach, NATs help translate the party’s countywide mission into sustained local action. By organizing at the neighborhood level, NATs strengthen communication, increase volunteer participation, and build the long-term relationships needed to elect Democrats and advance Democratic values in Columbia County.

In Lodi, our Neighborhood Action Team operates as Lodi Forward. Grounded in fostering local participation and civic engagement, Lodi Forward works to build an inclusive community presence right here in town. The team connects neighbors through local actions and events, including community visibility walks like their Unity Celebrations at Goeres Park and local grassroots fundraising efforts. If you live in the Lodi area, joining Lodi Forward is a perfect way to make a tangible impact close to home.

Our upcoming Neighborhood Action Team in Portage is forming under the name Progressive Portage. This newly emerging group is focused on establishing a strong progressive presence in the community through direct voter outreach and neighbor-to-neighbor connection. Progressive Portage is hitting the ground running with organizing events, including local doors-and-dirt canvassing sweeps, phone banks, and regular "Coffee and Conversation" community gatherings to talk about local issues. It is the perfect time to get involved on the ground floor and help shape the team's presence in Portage.
