Mike Heidenreich Says He Hears Good News for Unions and Democrats

Mike Heidenreich has been canvasing for his Union this season. He talks here with JoEllen Pauls about what he hears as he visits union members across Wisconsin. Overall, when it comes to Democrats, he says he likes what he's heard.

We're aware of who's on our side of who is showing up.
JoEllen
Hey good people out there. My name is JoEllen Pauls and I'm with the Columbia County Democrats.
Mike
And I'm Mike Heidenreich. I am also with the Columbia County Democrats, but also I work for IBEW (International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers) in Local 965.
JoEllen
So, we held a membership meeting today and had some of our candidates speak. And one of the things that Mike said really struck me about the change he's seen in conversations that he has with our local unions. Mike, can you share a little bit about that?
Mike
So, I've been out canvasing directly for the unions for some time. These are all to union families and their dependents, and it's just been amazing.
I mean, in our lifetime, in my lifetime, I've seen unions move a bit more conservative, but this time around, almost 99% of the doors I went to, they were like, "Oh, no. We're aware of who's on our side, of who is showing up when unions ask questions, of who is showing up with legislation when we actually run people and say this is a union endorsed candidate. And we understand that you guys are here for the working class and that's what we want to see. We are our job as union members is to support our union workers and that is what we have seen from the Democrats time and time again and we appreciate the heck out of you for it.

Yeah. So, a great shout out to those of you out there knocking doors to those of you getting the word out. Um, change can happen, friends, but it's going to take all of us. So, we're counting on you.
Early voting, in-person voting starts on October 20th. If you can get your vote in early, the election is November 3rd.
We are counting on you to help us bring the change to Wisconsin we know we need.
